How to Design Custom CD/DVD Menus with SamLogic CD-Menu Creator

SamLogic CD-Menu Creator is a no-code visual editor used to design professional autoplay and autorun menus for CDs, DVDs, and USB flash drives. It uses a structured, tabbed configuration interface that generates the exact runtime files (SLCDMENU.exe, AUTORUN.inf) needed for Windows to automatically fire up your menu when a disc or drive is inserted.

Designing a custom menu involves a step-by-step workflow across its configuration tabs. Step 1: Initialize Your Project

Instead of starting from a blank slate, you can fast-track development by loading one of over 20 pre-designed style layouts.

Open the program and navigate to Help > Open Example Project.

Select a template style that matches your goal (e.g., corporate, software installer, portfolio).

Go to File > Save Project As to rename and protect your unique template base. Step 2: Establish the Background & Window Properties

The look of your canvas is defined in Tab 1 (Window) and Tab 5 (Pictures) of the program.

Visual Backgrounds: You can set a solid background color, apply color blending, or import a high-resolution corporate custom bitmap image.

Window Behaviors: Choose whether the menu appears inside a standard window with a title bar, or as a borderless window. You can configure it to stay always-on-top, apply partial transparency, or add a fade-in animation effect. Step 3: Add Branding and Headers Text assets are configured in Tab 2 (Title).
